NOVEMBER 12-13, THURSDAY/FRIDAY


AGENDA

OBJECTIVE: Students will be assessed over TechKnowledge.

1) ASSIGN YOURSELF: HW DUE next Thursday!, Ethical, Unethical, Legal, Boolean search, & URL.  Exam next week over all TECHKNOWLEDGE

2) DO NOW: Win a million in 7 minutes!

3) DO NOT TAKE UNTIL GIVEN PERMISSION, WHEN WE BEGIN IT IS DEAD SILENT, DETENTION IF YOU ARE TALKING! We will all begin at the same time-TAKE QUIZ-

4) Independent Practice: Stay in your seat work finish your project: Post your rubric-grade yourself and bubble in rubric, screenshot and post to your blog, and your final- screenshots.

As a technology writer, you will use the Internet to explore the topic of teen hacking and why it is wrong. You will gather research on the Internet about the subject and then write a newspaper opinion column describing why hacking is unethical and illegal. Doing this will give you an understanding of why computer files should be treated the same as other forms of property.

REVIEW FOR QUIZ (7 minutes to try and win a million)
3) Guided Practice in Techconnect:(log into techconnect & have students read- Learn sections) Students will learn the difference between an inputting device and outputting device. Storage devices and communication devices (15 minutes)
4) Independent Practice-Log into Techconnect and complete projects in Powerpoint and or Word from last week. Post to your blog at 10:25 (30 minutes)
Ac133-6th grade- take screenshot of your project,Post to your blog at 12:20 & answer exit question

THIS WEEKS PROJECT CHECKLIST

A. Create a title slide using the following guidelines:

1. Include a creative title

2. Use color and a large font to make your title eye-catching

3. Add an appropriate graphic related to computer systems

B. On slide 2, explain the purpose of the motherboard and several of its

major components, such as the CPU, RAM, and ROM. Include images or clip art showing the motherboard and its major components.

C. On slide 3, explain the purpose of input devices and list the input

devices you want for your computer system. Include images or clip art showing these devices.

D. On slide 4, explain the purpose of storage and list the storage devices you want for your system. Include images or clip art showing these devices.

E. On slide 5, explain the purpose of output devices and list the output devices you want for your computer system. Include images or clip art showing these devices.

F. On slide 6, list any other devices (such as communication devices) you want included in your computer system.

· Explain the purpose of each device.

· Include images or clip art showing these devices.

· Make new slides if you need more space.

Use at least two different transitions to move from one slide to another.

Use animation on at least two of your slides. For example, on the slide explaining input devices, you might want to have the devices appear onscreen one at a time.

Check your presentation against the Checklist and revise as necessary.
